CARE COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR

  • DOCU-READY FAIRS

The CARE Center hosts quarterly DocuReady Fairs, designed to offer a wide range of services to the community in one convenient location. The event provides support for individuals seeking long-term housing assistance, employment, financial aid, and help with obtaining essential documents such as IDs, birth certificates, unemployment claims, disability support, and tax preparation. This one-day event allows individuals to access multiple services in a single visit.


  • SENIOR RESOURCE FAIRS

The CARE Center host Senior Resource Fair, aimed at connecting older adults with a variety of essential services. The event provided resources for peer support, healthcare options, financial support, legal aid, and other services tailored to meet the unique needs of seniors. This fair is part of our ongoing commitment to serve the community, and it was a great opportunity for participants to access vital information and services in one convenient location.

HOMELESS COURT RESOURCE FAIRS

The District Attorney’s CARE Center, Public Defender, City Attorney, Superior Court, and Department of HHSA-Homeless Solutions have partnered to organize resource fairs for the unhoused in our community. These pop-up events occur monthly, rotating to different locations throughout San Diego County. The fairs offer a wide range of services, including substance-use rehab programs, Child Support Services, birth certificate assistance, DMV services, benefits from the Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities' Live Well bus, Homeless Court and its justice partners are present to help participants overcome any barriers that may prevent them from accessing these resources.

PUBLIC SAFETY TALKS

Public Safety Talks aim to inform and educate the community about potential risks and best practices to enhance their safety by raising awareness and promoting proactive measures. These talks are offered in local schools, providing students and families with important safety information in an accessible setting. They also serve as a platform for open dialogue, allowing for the exchange of vital information and strengthening of community bonds.

COMMUNITY JUSTICE INITIATIVE (CJI)

The Community Justice Initiative (CJI) offers a three-week free Zoom course, mandated by the court, that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to address negative thought patterns. Participants will learn to identify and challenge these thoughts, which can significantly alter emotional responses and behaviors. The course aims to provide practical tools for personal growth and improved mental well-being through interactive sessions and expert guidance.

PROJECT IMPACT

Project IMPACT, which stands for Intervention, Mentorship, Prevention, Account- ability, and Community Trust, is a mentorship initiative specifically tailored for teenage youth. Created through collaboration between the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, the San Diego Police Department, and the Restoring Citizens Program—an esteemed Community-Based Organization—this program is designed to curtail juvenile delinquency, diminish recidivism rates, and provide viable alternatives to involvement in street gangs, substance abuse, and a life entangled in the criminal justice system. Through a 24-session introductory course spanning 12 weeks, participants have the opportunity to engage with law enforcement officials and community members, fostering authentic relationships with positive role models.

COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS

The Community Stakeholders Meeting organized by the District Attorney’s Office CARE Center is a dedicated forum aimed at engaging local residents, community leaders, law enforcement, grassroot organizations, and various county agencies to discuss pressing issues related to public safety, crime prevention, and justice. The meeting serves as a platform for open dialogue, community feedback, and collaboration to address the needs and concerns of the community.
This meeting is an invaluable opportunity to voice concerns, share solutions, and work collectively towards a safer and more cohesive community. The District Attorney’s Office values the input of all participants and looks forward to productive discussions that will enhance public safety and justice in our community.
