Citizens Academy is sponsored by the District Attorney's Office in partnership with the San Diego Sheriff's Department at no cost to participants. Citizens Academy is a 10-week course designed to engage members of the San Diego community in participation, communication, and mutual learning and understanding of the criminal justice system. We are bringing together a diverse group of speakers from the District Attorney's office, judiciary, law enforcement, defense bar, and media. Our class members are community leaders and individuals with a strong sense of community and commitment to building bridges between the criminal justice system and the citizens of the San Diego region.
