KRIS WALKER
The victim of a drunk driving crash that instantly killed his best friend and seriously injured another companion, Kris managed to scramble up a 300-foot ravine to pull the drunk driver who caused the crash from her burning car, saving her life. Kris testified against the driver at trial.

ANA DAUGHERTY
Ana came to the aid of a friend and co-worker who was being stabbed in the back by her husband. Against the advice of the 911 operator, Ana ran back in the house and wrestled knives away from the 300-pound attacker.

CONNIE HOAGLAND
Connie's husband of 27-years placed a bomb beneath her pickup truck. When she started the engine, an explosion ripped through the vehicle, blowing out the windows and severely injuring her. She survived her injuries and testified against her husband at trial.

HARRY MATHIS, MARY MATHIS
& JOSEPH BUNIVA
Harry Mathis, a former San Diego City Councilman, was savagely beaten as he attempted to protect himself and his wife during a violent home invasion robbery, a day shy of his 79th birthday. A neighbor, Joe Buniva, was key in foiling the violent attack.

The Hicks agreed to care for a five-month old infant who was the victim of a violent
assault that left him permanently paralyzed.
